I used to live on a farm where it was one of my chores to take care of the chickens. Thousands of chickens were subjected over the years to the songs I would compose as I fed and watered them. They were a good audience, especially considering I couldn't carry much of a tune. I learned to play the drums when I was 13 or so, and when I was 17 I picked up the guitar. I've tried to learn a little keyboard over the last few years and hope to be able to say I can play piano one day. Most of my pieces are written on the guitar but I have a few that are written on keys. My style is what some would call Country Folk, although I have written a rock song or two. I have been involved in bands before, but not anymore. These days I record my stuff at home using a Pentium 3 computer, Cakewalk Sonar and Cool Edit Pro, BIAB 9, a Samson CO1 Condenser Mic, a Norman Six-String, a Fender Standard Telecaster, a Korg 01/W FD keyboard, a Roland GP-8 Effects Processor, and a Fender Twin Reverb amp. I tend to recruit others to sing and fill in on various instruments for me. My brother-in-law, Ted Alger, has done a lot of work with me and deserves to be singled out for all of his help. My friend, Neil Reade, often helps me out with vocals.
Here's the lyrics to one of my songs: So It Goes Tonight blankets hug me again tonight all i want is your arms
around me & so it goes we shared an evening & a
bottle of wine & so it goes i don稚 know how i知 supposed
to feel my blankets hold me again
tonight
